The short answer

A free FileJoker account is fine for grabbing one small file now and then. As soon as you download regularly, download large files, or use a download manager, the limits of the free account get in the way – and FileJoker Premium removes them.

Download speed

Free downloads are throttled to a fraction of a normal connection, so a large file can take hours. With Premium there is no cap: the download runs as fast as your internet connection and FileJoker’s servers allow.

Waiting time and captchas

Before every free download FileJoker shows a countdown and asks you to solve a captcha. It sounds small, but it repeats for every single file. Premium links start immediately – which also makes it possible to queue many files in a download manager.

Traffic limits

Premium gives you 60,000 MB (about 60 GB) in any rolling 5-day window. That is enough for daily use; heavy users who move hundreds of gigabytes a week may prefer FileJoker’s VIP tier – see Premium vs VIP.

Resuming downloads

If your connection drops during a free download, you start again from zero. Premium downloads are resumable, in the browser and in tools such as JDownloader – see how to download from FileJoker at full speed.

File storage

If you upload to FileJoker, Premium keeps your files online for 90 days after their last download, compared with 30 days on a free account.

Is Premium worth it?

If you download from FileJoker even once a week, Premium saves real time. Our plans start at $23 for 30 days and get cheaper per day with longer plans – see all FileJoker Premium prices. You pay once, by card, PayPal or crypto, with no subscription.
